Yash to debut as Raavan in Ramayan

Earlier this month, it was reported that Rocking Star Yash is all set to play the role of Raavan in Nitesh Tiwari-directed Ramayan.
He visited a temple in Ujjain before he steps into the world of this divine epic. Now we have come to know that Yash joined the sets of Ramayan on April 30, 2025 and gave his first shot as Raavan.

According to sources, Yash will be shooting for Ramayan for almost a month, which includes portions of the first part and some scenes from the second part. He has begun the journey with his solo scenes and will soon be shooting combination scenes with Sai Pallavi (Sita), Ranbir Kapoor (Lord Ram) and Sunny Deol (Lord Hanuman).

The source further added that the main shooting of Ramayan: Part One will be wrapped up in two weeks and the team will continue working on the sequel without any interruption, which will hit the big screens after a year.  Ramayan: Part One is scheduled to release on the Diwali 2026 weekend, while Ramayan: Part Two will release on Diwali 2027.

The makers aim to wrap up the shooting of both parts of Ramayan by the end of this year, so that they can work extensively on post production. “We are looking to make a film that represents India and Indian stories globally,” the source said. We also hear that those who have seen the visuals of Ramayan are raving about it, describing it as a never-seen-before visual experience.

The makers have created several preview materials with the leads, which will be released in due course as a glimpse into the world of this Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra-created epic. Meanwhile, Sunny Deol is expected to begin shooting for Ramayan from June 2025.
