On the very first day, the film has surprised everyone by selling tickets worth about $ 1.70 lakh (about Rs 1.4 crore). According to the data till 8 am on August 3, War 2 has sold more than 5500 tickets for 1585 shows at 580 locations in America.

The advance booking figure of the film has reached USD 170K and the booking of many locations is yet to open. This figure is expected to increase rapidly in the coming days. The advance booking of the film is being competed with big films like Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 and Shahrukh Khan’s Donkey. But War 2 will be released in America in Hindi and Telugu, due to which it is attracting the audience of North and South.
Competition with Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’
Looking at the figures of the film, trade analysts believe that War 2 can also cross the figure of USD 200K (about Rs 1.66 crores) in the next 24 hours. The advance booking of War 2 is going well, but Rajinikanth’s film Coolie has already made a big record. The advance booking of Coolie in America started from mid-July and till now it has sold tickets worth 1 million dollars (about Rs 8.3 crores). It has become the fastest Tamil film to earn so much in North America.
