Thalapathy Vijay Birthday South Indian cinema’s famous actor and pan-India icon Thalapathy Vijay is celebrating his 61st birthday today (June 22). Active in the film industry for more than three decades, Vijay has acted in more than 68 films and is now preparing to enter politics.
Vijay’s early life
Vijay’s real name is Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, and he was born on 22 June 1974. His father S.A. Chandrasekhar is a famous Tamil film director, while his mother Shobha Chandrasekhar is a playback singer. Vijay started his career as a child artist and at the age of 18, he played the lead role in the film ‘Naalay Theerpu’. After this he became the Thalapathy of South Indian cinema.

Vijay’s love story is no less than a film. He married his fan Sangeeta who lives in the UK. One day Sangeeta came to meet Vijay on his shooting set, and this is where their love started. Vijay’s father himself called Sangeeta home and proposed marriage to her, which she immediately accepted. The two got married on 25 August 1999 and have two children, Sanjay and Divya.
