Sikander Movie Reviews

What’s Good: Background score, main message of the film, some action sequences.
What’s Bad: The film fades badly in the second half due to loopholes in the plot and poor screenplay, Salman Khan’s screen presence is blazing but his acting seems dull, supporting star cast’s acting is not strong and illogical sub-plot, final fight is not that engaging.
Loo Break: One can opt for either in the songs or in the second half, it won’t hurt much.
Watch or Not?: Salman Khan fans can give it a try but it might be a missed opportunity for them as well.
Language: Hindi
Available: Theatre release
Runtime: 135 minutes
Salman Khan’s Sikandar has its heart in the right place with a sensitive message. However, it gets spoiled to a great extent by a shoddy screenplay, loopholes in the plot and half-baked acting. Bhai’s swag is top-notch but it’s not enough to carry a shoddy execution. The film goes downhill from the second half onwards.
The story revolves around Sanjay Rajkot (Salman Khan), the king of Rajkot who is loved by his people and has amassed immense wealth and power, a testament to his legacy. He clashes with the corrupt and powerful politician Pradhan (Satyaraj) after he beats up his son Arjun (Prateik Babbar). On the other hand, while he is happily married to Saisri (Rashmika Mandanna), he often fails to give her enough time which fills a void in their marriage.
Soon a tragedy turns Sanjay’s life upside down and he has to rediscover himself as a husband. In his quest, he faces his most fierce enemy and faces many hurdles in the path of his life’s mission. Will he succeed in preserving the last memory of his beloved wife?

Sikander Movie Review: Script Analysis
Sikander starts off strong with an engaging first half. There are flaws, but the emotions are high enough to compensate for them. However, it is the second half that falters completely. Salman Khan’s Sanjay Rajkot suddenly becomes a messiah who can do everything. There are many flaws during the confrontation between Sanjay and Pradhan. Whether it is Sanjay’s easy intrusion into the lives of people possessing his wife’s organs or Pradhan’s extreme measures to hunt down Salman’s character, you don’t get connected to a single sub-plot, especially when it comes to rivalry. They tried to show some messages of humanity, women empowerment and not taking your loved ones for granted, but somehow we don’t get connected to it. Also, the climax is one of the most predictable and laborious parts of the film.
It only relies on action sequences and background score and doesn’t make any strong impact. Sikandar attempts to tell an honest story of a man who becomes a savior for many after a personal loss. But it needed more depth, emotions and a strong screenplay, which we don’t see at all.
Sikandar Movie Reviews: Star Performances

Salman Khan’s aura will always be unmatched for his fans, but that sparkle was missing in his performance. He tried to do justice to the emotional scenes, but otherwise, there was a sense of monotony in his dialogues and action sequences. Bhai didn’t offer anything new in his one, which was a big disappointment.
Rashmika Mandanna’s chemistry with Salman Khan was a big letdown and we don’t miss her character in Sikandar at all. However, capable actors like Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, Kishore and Sanjay Kapoor were completely wasted. Neither their performances nor their character development added much substance to the plot. Anjini Dhawan struggled in her acting and needs to polish up further. However, the child actor who played Kamran impressed with his confident performance.:

Sikandar Movie Review: Music & Direction
A.R. Murugadoss tried to serve us a gripping tale with a love story, action, human angle and an emotional message. But the execution falters heavily and none of the sub-plots strike a chord. The action sequences manage to stand out in some scenes. However, the background score is catchy and peppy in some scenes. Sikandar Movie Review
