Tamil superstar Surya’s ‘Retro’ was the much awaited film of the year. This action thriller hit the theaters on May 1, but it had to clash with South film Hit 3 as well as Bollywood film Raid 2 and Hollywood movie Thunderbolts.

However, amid the crowd of so many new films, ‘Retro’ made a great start. Let us now know how much the film has collected on the second day of its release.

How much did ‘Retro’ earn on the second day? Surya’s Kanguva, released in the year 2024, proved to be a disaster at the box office. At the same time, now the actor has made a comeback on the big screen with ‘Retro’. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, this film is seeing a lot of craze. IMDb has also given ‘Retro’ an 8.7 rating. With this, ‘Retro’ made a strong start at the box office with earnings of 19.25 crores on the first day of its release. However, on the second day of release, there has been a huge drop in the earnings of the film.

According to the early trend report of SaccNilk, ‘Retro’ has collected 7.50 crores on the second day of its release.

With this, the total earnings of ‘Retro’ in two days have now become Rs 26.75 crores.

‘Retro’ lagged behind Raid 2 and Hit 3 on the second day

‘Retro’ had a great start but on the second day of its release, it lagged behind Ajay Devgan’s Raid 2 and Nani’s Hit 3. While ‘Retro’ has collected 7.50 crores on the second day, the earnings of Raid 2 on the second day were Rs 11 crore and Hit 3’s were Rs 10 crore. However, the makers are hopeful that ‘Retro’ will do wonders on the weekend and its earnings will increase.

‘Retro’ is directed by South director Karthik Subbaraj. Pooja Hegde has played the lead role in the film along with Surya.  Other star cast includes veteran actors like Jayaram, Nassar and Prakash Raj. Talking about the story of the film, it revolves around a gangster who wants to get away from the world of crime for the sake of his wife but his fate takes him somewhere else.
