For Mumbai Indians, Trent Boult once again broke the back of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting with his classic swing bowling. SRH, who lost the toss and came to bat first, had a very bad start.

The team had lost its top five batsmen for just 35 runs.

Key batsmen like Travis Head (0), Abhishek Sharma (8), Ishan Kishan (1), Nitish Reddy (2), and Aniket Verma (12) returned to the pavilion cheaply. However, after this Heinrich Klaasen and impact player Abhinav Manohar took the responsibility.

The partnership between these two took the team to a respectable score of 143/8, but this score was not enough considering Mumbai’s batting order.

Mumbai Indians had a bit of a slow start, but Rohit Sharma adopted an aggressive approach from the beginning.  In the powerplay, the team had scored 56 runs by losing just one wicket. After this, Rohit took charge of the innings and played a stormy innings of 70 runs in 46 balls. 8 fours and 3 sixes came off his bat and he broke a 9-year-old record by scoring his second consecutive half-century. Suryakumar Yadav scored 40 runs in 19 balls and returned unbeaten, while Will Jacks also scored a useful 22 runs. Mumbai achieved the target of 144 runs in just 15.4 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.

With this win, Mumbai Indians have taken a big leap in the points table. The team has now occupied the third position by winning 5 out of 9 matches. Also, this big win has also given a tremendous boost to the net run rate.
