The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken major action after the 1-3 defeat in the Border Gavaskar Trophy this year and the leaking of dressing room talks during the series. The board has removed BCCI assistant coach Abhishek Nair, while his tenure started only 8 months ago.

Let us tell you that after losing the BGT series, the BCCI had held a review meeting, in which a member of the team management complained that dressing room news was going out.

According to sources apart from assistant coach Abhishek Nair, Indian team’s fielding coach T Dilip and trainer Soham Desai have also been fired. The report quoted sources as saying that no one will be appointed in place of Nair as Sitashu Kotak is already associated with Team India as batting coach. At the same time, assistant coach Ryan Ten Descate will look after Dilip’s work.

Trainer Soham Desai will be replaced by Adrian Li Ru, who is currently associated with Punjab Kings in IPL.  He was also with the KKR team from 2008 to 2019, he also worked with Team India from 2002 to 2003. He has signed a contract with the BCCI.

The BGT series was surrounded by controversies

The Indian team lost the Border Gavaskar Trophy 1-3, Ashwin suddenly retired in this series. Rohit Sharma had ruled himself out of the Sydney Test, after which speculations began that everything was not going well inside the team. News of the Indian dressing room also came out, which further heated up the matter. A member had also complained about this to the BCCI. Earlier, Team India had a shameful performance against New Zealand at home. New Zealand defeated India 3-0 in the Test series
