Neeraj Ghevan’s film ‘Homebound’ premieres at Cannes

Neeraj Ghevan‘s much-awaited film ‘Homebound‘ had a world premiere at the Un Certain Regards section at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. During this screening, the audience stood for nine minutes and applauded.

The event was accompanied by the lead actors Ishaan Khattar, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor. The film’s producers Karan Johar and his Dharma Productions associates Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra were also part of the team.

The first reviews of ‘Homebound’ have come out, in which the emotional depth of the film and the acting of the main actors have been praised. Variety mentioned her “extremely cute and unexpected acting” while appreciating Ishaan and Vishal’s performance.

Pride of Indian Cinema

This was an important moment for Indian cinema, when ‘Homebound’ premiered on the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival. The film, starring Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khattar and Vishal Jethwa, was praised with applause from the international audience standing for 9 minutes. Ishaan and Karan expressed their gratitude with folded hands, while Karan and Neeraj hugged emotionally. Dharma wrote in her post, “9 minutes of pure love and applause! The team of Homebound is getting everyone’s appreciation in @FestivalDecannes!”

The story of the film

‘Homebound’ is produced by Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra along with Karan Johar. The project has Marijke D’Souza and Melita Toscan du Plantier co-producers. Legendary Hollywood filmmaker Martin Scorsese is also the executive producer of this film. The story of the film revolves around two friends from North Indian village, who dream of doing a police job, but their friendship faces difficulties in this search.
